The USWNT will face Canada in the next iteration of the Continental Clasico, which will be the first to include the women's side, U.S. Soccer announced Monday. The previous two editions included the men's team and been promoted as an annual event that sees the U.S. host premier opponents from the Americas.
In this year's edition, the USWNT will face Canada, another of the world's top teams. The two teams met twice in 2024, once in the W Gold Cup semifinal and once in the SheBelieves Cup finale.
The U.S. won both matches in penalty shootouts.

“Canada is a top team,” said USWNT head coach Emma Hayes. “As this game will end a three-match window, we’ll get a good chance to see our whole roster in training and hopefully game action before selecting a team to start in Washington, D.C. The Spirit fans have been fantastic supporting their team and we’re looking forward to them coming out to create an electric atmosphere for this game as well.”

The match will be the USWNT's third of that summer window with previous games scheduled in the week leading up to the Continental Clasico.
The U.S. will face the Republic of Ireland in the other two matches, with the first coming on June 26 in Commerce City, Colorado and the second scheduled for three days later in Cincinnati.

The USWNT have a pair of Olympic gold-medal game rematches against Brazil. The first will come Saturday in Minneapolis before the two teams face off in Los Angeles next Tuesday.
