The Brazilian has missed several games this season with various injuries and ahead of their La Liga clash at Girona on Saturday night, Los Blancos have confirmed Rodrygo, midfielder Chema Andres, and forward Gonzalo Garcia are unavailable. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ruben Yanez has been promoted to the matchday squad.

A club statement reads: "Real Madrid travelled to Girona to face the 16th round of the League tonight at Montilivi with the last-minute absences of Rodrygo, Gonzalo and Chema. In their place, Yáñez entered the squad."

Madrid face a tough test away to eighth-placed Girona this weekend and not having Rodrygo is a blow for Carlo Ancelotti's men. They sit second in the table, four points behind rivals Barcelona but they do have a game in hand. Los Blancos will hope the 23-year-old and his team-mates are back fit soon.
