He posted a long and emotional message on Instagram, confirming the news for fans and the media.
Miller won 70 caps for his country, scoring 18 goals in the process while he also played for both Rangers and Celtic in the Scottish top flight.
The prolific forward played a total of 265 games for the Gers, scoring 103 goals and throwing in an eye-catching 57 assists for good measure.
And now, following his retirement, two Rangers stars Allan McGregor and James Tavernier have paid tribute to an iconic figure in Scottish football, posting two touching Instagram snaps for their friend.
Both players shared some of their best moments with Miller alongside touching captions, wishing him a happy retirement and writing a word or two on his career.
Interestingly enough, another former Rangers player Peter Lovenkrands, who’s also retired, liked McGregor’s snap and showed his respect for Miller.
