Leeds have been met with the reality that Eddie Nketiah could well be recalled this month.
A report on Monday that was then quickly confirmed by the Yorkshire Evening Post, suggested that Arsenal would indeed bring him back to North London.
With that in mind, the Whites would need a replacement given Patrick Bamford would be the only senior centre-forward left in the squad.
Phil Hay has stated that Che Adams is on their radar but freelance journalist David Smith suggested that Billy Sharp was also on their list of targets and had been told by Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder that he can leave.
He’s yet to really get going in the Premier League, netting just once from ten games but he did score 23 times in the Championship last year, helping the Blades to promotion.
It’s clear the 33-year-old knows where the net is and it seems as though supporters think he’d be a star under Marcelo Bielsa and would continue where he left off last term. In doing so, they urged the club’s officials to make a move.
The former Leeds man, who scored just five times for them back in 2014/15 has come a long way since and there is a feeling he’d do better during a second stint at Elland Road.
Whether the move does happen remains to be seen but supporters think he’d be perfectly suited to the system Bielsa operates with.

Patrick Bamford fits into their style of play perfectly because of his work rate and ability to bring others into play, often coming deep to influence proceedings. Sharp is a player in a similar mould, although given Bielsa’s ‘murderball’ training sessions he could struggle with the fitness demands.
That being said, Pablo Hernandez has had no troubles and won Leeds’ Player of the Year last campaign, so it’s a move that could pay off.
Meanwhile, one key figure could return to action for Leeds on New Years Day…
