During Monterrey's dramatic 2-1 defeat to Tigres, Ramos took a penalty to give his side a 1-0 lead early in the second half. Known for his repeatedly controversial defensive tactics throughout his peak in Spain, Ramos was faced with a bizarre strategy from goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman, who turned his back on the former Spain international as he prepared to take his kick.

Ramos looked confused by Gomez's tactics but he converted the penalty anyway. It was not enough for Monterrey, however, as they fell to a late defeat. Tigres were reduced to 10 men in the 47th minute, but Monterrey saw both German Berterame and Oliver Torres sent off later in the second half before goals in the 90th and 96th minutes sealed a remarkable comeback for their opponents.

Ramos is now 39 and has a contract until December 31. It remains to be seen if he will be given an offer to extend his stay.
